Cornware’s impressive biodegradable knives are strong and durable enough to set into crunchy meals. Its disposable natures mean that it can be used for food to go that is taken away from your restaurant. Additionally, because it is disposable it is a convenient alternative to traditional metal eating utensils as the knives do not have to be collected and cleaned.

Conware’s biodegradable knife is made from Origo, which is an innovative material created using corn and yam. Corn and yam are first made into flour and starch. Together with polypropylene (PP), pallets are formed before it is made into Origo. A substantial percentage (70%) of corn and yam starch blended with PP (30%) forms the basis of material. This is a significant reduction of plastics used compared to pure plastic bags. PP is assimilated with the corn and yam starch and thus will fully biodegrade together with the corn and yam.

This ingenious material boasts some fantastic properties. Firstly, the knives are 100% biodegradable whilst still being able to withstand temperatures of -20°C to 150°C. This resilience means that the utensil is both microwave proof and freeze-able. Additionally, the kinves are also carbon neutral up to 68% and releases 68% less carbon dioxide when incinerated.

The Conware 7” biodegradable knives are strong and durable and can be used up to 3 times. These knives also come in handy packs of 50 which are fantastic for stock control in busy environments.

Delivery

Free delivery on all orders over £50 (ex vat) and up to 30kg. Applies to UK mainland (UK Mainland excl. Highlands and Islands) and items held in stock only.

Orders under £50 are charged at £6.95 +VAT for delivery. All orders are dispatched with a Fast Courier Service. 

All deliveries are kerb side only by our courier partners.

Please be aware that orders may come in separate deliveries from different locations within the Cooksmill fulfilment centres.

Returning items purchased online

If you purchase a stock item online that you want to return then you can send it back to us within 28 days of the sale and we will refund the value of the items that we receive back in resaleable condition.

Special orders and orders of appliances may incur restocking charges from the manufacturer. This can be up to 30%.

If there was a picking error and you received incorrect items we will arrange for a replacement.

If you receive any damaged items please email us immediately. We require images of the broken item and the packaging within 48 hours of the goods being signed for to process your claim.
